Le Relais de Venise "L'Entrecote"
The menu options at Le Relais de Venise (or just L'Entrecote for short) are even less than in Burger and Lobster, and here you get only 1 thing on the menu – you go there for their steak, their fries and their secret sauce (apparently old and family recipe for years). I remember going to L’Entrecote a few years ago and absolutely loving it, but this time when I went there I was a bit disappointed, as the meat although it is nice, it is not the best steak you have in London, the sauce is delicious, but not the best sauce I have had and they give you way too many fries (also not the best – Nandos peri peri fries so much better!!) in comparison to the meat. So whilst a few years ago this place was amazing, I loved it, now I find myself not very happy when I have to queue outside of L’Entrecote for 30min/ 1h (easily done on a Friday/ Saturday evening as they don’t take any reservations) for this type of food. The London food scene has moved on and L’Entrecote has not. Having said that once in maybe a year I still would like to go there as there is something special about the atmosphere and the waitresses all dressed like maids and just the whole concept of having 1 dish on the menu, kind of cool.
