I was in Mykonos, Greece and I was craving some souvlaki. When I googled souvlaki and Mykonos, this café “Jimmy’s Place” kept coming up, so I thought it should be good and decided to go there. Some articles that I had googled even said Jimmy’s Place was the most famous souvlaki place in Mykonos. Jimmy’s Place was located in the town of Mykonos, on one of the small alley way streets. We got a bit lost and asked some people where Jimmy’s Place was and everyone knew it, so it definitely is famous.

On our last night in Mykonos, Greece, I was craving some souvlaki, which I managed to find in the cheap and cheerful restaurant called Jimmy’s place (see the review in my blog). However my boyfriend seeing the place and the food refused to eat souvlaki at Jimmy’s place and wanted to find another restaurant where to have dinner. After wondering for a while around the narrow streets of the old town of Mykonos, which are full of buzz and shops, we found Olla, where he decided to have dinner.

I was in Mykonos for my friend’s wedding and on the day of the wedding for lunch we wanted to go somewhere nice in Mykonos. One of the members of the wedding party recommended Alemagou and said that it was a great place for lunch on one of the nicest beaches in Mykonos, Ftelia. Ftelia beach is not the most popular one, and so has a nice intimate feeling to it, despite being full of people (the other beaches in Mykonos are way more crowded).

When we arrived, Alemagou definitely looked lovely. It seemed super fun with people drinking wine and cocktails, swimming, tanning and generally having fun. It has a great atmosphere, and a beautiful décor, one of the nicest places in Mykonos that I went to, with a beautiful view of the sea. When we first arrived they asked if we had a booking, and we did not, so they almost did not have any space for us, but managed to find a small table. But if you want to come here, especially in a larger group, make sure you book.

Sea Satin Market restaurant is the restaurant part of the Caprice venture in Mykonos (they also have a bar). Sea Satin Market is located in one of the most, if not the most, beautiful locations in Mykonos town, the tables are so close to the beautiful Aegean sea, you almost feel like you are eating on the sea. Sea Satin Market is an upmarket Greek tavern restaurant that I visited on a Friday night, for my friend’s pre-wedding party.

Sea Satin Market has that beautiful Greek tavern look, with white tables and chairs. The menu of Sea Satin Market focuses on fresh fish and seafood (but they also have steak for meat lovers), and you can watch a fish of your choice being grilled on the open fire grills, which is what we did. We did not choose our dishes, as we were there as part of a big party and so we had a set menu, but the dishes were wonderful.

I was walking through Marylebone, doing my Sunday shopping, and noticed Opso, a new restaurant that had opened where Ping Pong used to be, which had recently shut down (as my boyfriend thinks Marylebone people are too sophisticated for average dim sum). I went in and had a look at the menu and it actually looked quite nice, and offered to my boyfriend to come here later for brunch, which we did.

I was invited to a blogger event at Ergon, to go there taste their food and learn a bit more about the restaurant. I usually never go to these type of events, as I don’t want to go across London on a weekday for some event that starts at 8pm and also because I would just rather have a meal with my friends, and this was the first one that I attended as I was curious about this restaurant and also because it was so close to where I live. But I enjoyed this evening so much and had such a great modern Greek meal and met so many interesting people that I am so glad I came here.

Lemonia is a neighbourhood Greek restaurant in Primrose Hill and it is one of those old school restaurants that people have been going to for years (it has been open for 30 years). People say that the best thing about this Greek restaurant is the service, as this is a family run Greek restaurant, and all the people who work there are Greeks and they welcome you very well. I found this to be true, and when we arrived we were eagerly greeted and seated outside and given the menu right away.

The Real Greek is a chain of Greek restaurants that has been around for many years and offers okeyish Greek food in the middle of London. It is not going to offer you very creative or super well made Greek food, but if you are lazy and just want some taste of Greece, it is a good place to visit.
