I think Del-Mare restaurant in Istanbul has one of the best and beautiful views of the Bosphorus (which is stunning if you have not seen it). Del Mare is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, so it overlooks the European side which I think is a bit more interesting to look at than the Asian side (which is a far more common view point). Del Mare serves seafood with a big Turkish influence (note even though on the website it states they have influence from France, Italy and Greece, I think this place can be best described as a Turkish fish and seafood restaurant, with a wonderful Turkish fish and seafood meze). The food is very good and the restaurant is situated in an old historical building but you really go here for the view.

Reina is the place to be in Istanbul if you are young, have some money to spend and are looking for a good time. Reina is an “entertainment” centre located by the Bosphorus on the European side of Istanbul, right next to the water, so some boats actually stop there and let passengers on and off. The view is great, not the best I have seen but still amazing, and you overlook some amazing buildings on the Asian side as well as the cool bridge that connects Europe and Asia and that constantly changes colour at night. There are 6 restaurants in Reina serving different types of food from Turkish to Chinese and Sushi and in the middle of the complex there is a bar and a dance floor where you go after you have had your dinner to mingle with the local Turks (and increasingly foreigners).

I absolutely loves this place in Istanbul, I have been here 3 times and every time I go to Istanbul I feel the biggest urge to go there, and every time I go there I overeat so much I can hardly walk after the meal, this place in my view serves the best traditional and casual kebabs and Turkish food in Istanbul. Kosebasi serves South Anatolian food and has been awarded many prizes, including the best kebabs in Istanbul by some restaurant critics. Note Kosebasi has become a sort of a chain these days with restaurants not only in Turkey but also with branches in Riyadh, Amsterdam, Bahrain and even Sao Paolo, but nevertheless I can't see this affecting the quality of the food in the Istanbul branch that I went to located in the financial district.

Venge is another very good kebab restaurant in Istanbul, although not as nice as Uulus 29 and Kosebasi. It opened in 2001 in the business district of Istanbul and so during the lunchtime it feels very corporate. There is an inside restaurant as well as an outside garden, which is where I had my meal.

The food was good but as I said not as good as in some other Istanbul restaurants. The pickles that they served (I love pickles) were delicious, starters also good (although not as nice as in Kosebasi, but still delicious by any other standard), and the kebabs good too. For a different presentation of the same old kebabs do go here.

Ulus 29 is a wonderful place in Istanbul ticking so many boxes. Ulus 29 is located on a hilltop in the upscale neighbourhood of Ulus, and besides the good food in the restaurant, there is a wonderful bar with fantastic views from of the Boshhorus and two of the bridges connecting Asia and Europe from high up. There is also a club called Club 29 where the young and trendy Turks go to party after their meal, and it one of the best clubs in Istanbul. Ulus opened in 1993 and is owned by Metin Fadıllıoğlu. The décor of Ulus 29 was designed by Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu.
